There are two main methods of getting to and from Waiheke Island, The car ferry (or the barge for the old timers) or one of the passenger ferries.
Car ferry service is provided by Sealink. Services run between Half Moon Bay and Kennedy Point Waiheke and less regularly between Wynyard Wharf and Kennedy Point Waiheke.
Although pre booking is not essential it is advisable especially during holidays as capacity is often limited.

The car ferry also provides a walk on passenger service.
There are two passenger ferry services from down-town Auckland to Matiatia, Waiheke Island.

Fullers are the Scottish owned ferry service that previously held the monopoly on the run,
Click here for timetable. Sealink provide a free shuttle service to Oneroa Village. Ideal if you are arriving early and want to do a bit of sightseeing before checking in.
Once you are on the island.
First up, slow down, you’re here. As Waiheke Island resident John Hawkesby says “Waiheke, far enough behind to be ahead”
From Matiatia wharf you can catch the first bus in the queue to Onetangi. You need to get off at the Z Petrol Station. Take the road opposite “Eden Terrace” and follow it up until you meet Hobson Terrace. Our accommodation is on the right with entrance at the elbow bend. Google directions are here
